Her soul has its season

A juncture of gain

A moment of none

Yet, You still hold Your beloved one

Like the clay in the potter’s hand

Her heart has its season

A day of silence

A second of nuance

Yet, You still loved Your chosen one

Like the clay in the potter’s hand

Her life has its season

A time to reap

                                                                        The Scent

The scent of trust

In the meadows of scarcity

It still soothes the weary heart

Because it knows Who owns the eternity

The scent of faith

In the waves of obscurity

It comforts the temporary plight

Because It knows Who holds the soul securely

The scent of worship

In the noises of silence

It speaks the loudest into the depth

Because it knows Whose voice

Will rise triumphantly

Autumn

Autumn

#soulkeeping

by: Aide Rose

Autumn

And then autumn came

bringing another ending

stripping all that happened

There He gently whispered
There's time for everything
I came to love
There's beauty in change
Let go, and let things transpired...

There He graciously sealed
The faithful promises so comforting
I came to live, there's season of change
Give way, and let things assured...

There He constantly showed
The love warmly embracing
I came to enjoy,
There's different colors in crisp fall
Let it be, and let things ordained...

by: Aide Rose

Timeless Grace

Oh, how  amazing it is
Even before life's unfolded
It is there accorded
Yes, YOUR grace is timeless

Oh, how wonderful it is
To live under YOUR goodness
It is limitless
Yes, YOUR grace is timeless

Oh, how humbling it is
To embrace it with gladness
It is YOUR profound loving kindness
Yes, YOUR grace is timeless

The Camp I thought I Knew About

#soulkeeping
by: Aide Rose

The Camp I Thought I Knew About
I was privileged to be one of the counselors.  Each group was named after selfless and inspiring missionaries; our group name was Jim Elliot.  We were 36, consisted of Batak, Tagbanua, Badjao and Cuyunon tribes.  Each group had to cook their own food by an old school way of starting the fire with only available rotten woods, barks and twigs around the campsite.  It was extra challenging for us because the weather was inevitable; rain poured down at times during the camp. Where in the middle of the dense forest, several small, old, thatched houses provided for the campers and staff, a flowing shallow river where we washed our dishes, bathed, and cleaned our stuff. The campers' adaptability to their temporary environment was contagious! There was an obstacle game which challenged everyone’s teamwork, endurance, determination, optimism, patience, and focus. Under those obstacles, everyone finished well.  Their enthusiasm helped them through as well.
It had been awhile since I participated in this kind of camping, which was, for me, a survival one, instead. I thought, my years in Cambodia has taught me enough patience and endurance, however, I was wrong. Those few days of camping, God taught me patience, endurance and optimism in a new light.
Jim Elliot Team

Jim Elliot Team orientation in one of our thatches

The fact that the situation was outside everyone’s comfort zone, the camp ended purposeful.  I witnessed acceptance and no discrimination from these four tribes as I observed them, may it be in words or actions. They were enjoying each other’s company by learning a bit of each other’s dialect and cultural dances. I experienced unity despite language barriers between the staff and campers (we need to speak Tagalog, the country's national language for us to understand each other).  Each worship time, sharing, practical life skills and rescue session and group devotion was Christ-centered.  I was amazed that majority of these young people were honest enough of their struggles and challenges in life, and that they really sought for sound advice and guidance from the Pastors and Missionaries who were present during the camp.
 God is working!

God has done wonderful things in and through the lives of the missionaries and their families who are ministering these tribes for decades not just in this camp.  They sacrificed a lot but most especially, their obedience to God's call is inspiring.

Twelve years later, and they are all teenagers.  They were only 3 and 8 years old when they became my students (and their other classmates) in the tribal community. Some of them have their own families and children.  When we had our mini reunion, it was heartwarming to hear their stories, some of them were their memories with me as their Ate Biday (older sister). I am blessed to hear their dreams in life, and compelled to pray for the challenges they are facing each day. Jomer "Ping" shared that he wanted to be a missionary and serve the Lord full time and his fellow Batak tribe. It is uplifting to know that they are all have personal relationship with Jesus; serving the Lord and their community.

The TRUTH

The Truth

The truth will set you free;
when lies are like clouds
hover your way.
It is like millions of stars,
shining brightly through the darkest of days.

The truth will set you free;
when chatter words
deafen your sanity.
It is like the harmonious melody,
signing softly through the chaotic bigotry.

The truth will set you free;
when slaves of wrong judgment
tangles your integrity.
It is like a constant reflection,
showing vividly through the knotty array.

A Love Worth Giving

A Love Worth Giving

A love worth giving
is not wanting
it is waiting
Love is patience

A love worth giving
is not self seeking
it is accepting
Love is kind

A love worth giving
is not arrogant
it is self-effacing
Love is selfless

A love worth giving
is not resentful
it is forgiving
Love is gracious

A love worth giving
is not blind at wrong doings
it is living with the truth
Love is pure

Heaven's LOVE

HEAVEN's LOVE

True Love was born in a manger
Swaddling in cloth
In a cold breeze of the night
Where the WORD became flesh.

True Love was born in a manger
Surrounded by hays
In a wee hour of the night
Where He made His dwelling among us.

True Love was born in a manger
A humble place to be in
A time ordained by the Heavenly Father
Where the birth is planned from eternity past.

GRACE

Who can fathom Your grace?
It is peerless but sufficient for all.
It strengthens me when I am weak;
And makes my heart whole again.

Who can replace Your grace?
It is precious but free for all.
It works into the depth of my soul;
And renews my life once more.

Who can judge Your grace?
It is pure but offered to many.
It changes my life 'till eternity;
And gives glory to Your name solely

Trust HIM

Trust HIM

Trust HIM and you will be filled,
Not by the treasure of this world,
But by the reward of heaven's promised.

Trust HIM and you will be secured,
Not by the glamour of this world,
But by the truth of His flawless Word.

Trust HIM and you will be contented,
Not by the offers of this world,
But by the glorious moment already adorned.

Trust HIM and you will be applauded,
Not by the throng of this world,
But but by the Lord of lords.

Trust HIM and you will be lightened,
Not by the voices of this world,
But the insight of His Word .

Out From The Ashes

Out From The Ashes

Out from the ashes
YOU gave me life
Calling its eternal
To the place I'll one day dwell.

Out from the ashes
YOU gave me hope
Brighter than the light
For it points to the blessed One.

Out from the ashes
YOU gave me joy
Better than this world holds
For it knows no ifs.

Out from the ashes
YOU gave me faith
Seeing vividly the unknown
For it fixes upon the cross.

Out from the ashes
YOU gave me love
Showing how it radiates

The Battle Belongs To God

The Battle Belongs To God
2 Chronicles 20:15

The Lord is fighting for me
When He restores my strength
Each time I am down
For the battle belongs to Him

The Lord is fighting for me
When He gives my heart hope
Each time I am in despair
For the battle belongs to Him

The Lord is fighting for me
When He guides my way
Each time I am lost
For the battle belongs to Him

The Lord is fighting for me
When He gives my daily need
Each time I feel I am lacking
For the battle belongs to Him

The Lord is fighting for me
When He heals me from pain
Each time I feel weak
For the battle belongs to Him

The Lord is fighting for me
When He loves the worst in me
Each time I feel unloved
For the battle belongs to Him

The Lord is fighting for me
When He grants me courage
Each time fear overwhelms me
For the battle belongs to Him

The Lord is fighting for me
When He lights my way
Each time darkness tries to lure me
For the battle  belongs to Him

YOU Are My Hiding Place

YOU Are My Hiding Place
Psalm 32:7a

YOU are my hiding place
When storms come my way,
they disappear
When YOU say,
In MY embrace is where you stay.

YOU are my hiding place
When my foes attack me,
They fall beyond despair
When you stretch YOUR hands,
And take me in YOUR loving care.

YOU are my hiding place
When life has its holds,
It's surely bearable
When YOU whisper,
Everything will be beautiful.

YOU are my hiding place
When sorrow hides my joy,
They lost completely
When JESUS already carried them
Upon the cross of Calvary.

"I AM WHO I AM"

September 2017

"I AM WHO I AM"
Exodus 3: 14

In silence,
HIS voice gently tells me,
I am not alone.
In the midst of storm,
HIS power reminds me, I am secure.
I AM WHO I AM

In uncertainty,
HIS presence assures me,
I am His own.
In my weaknesses,
HIS hands holds me, I am strong. .
I AM WHO I AM

In times of need,
HIS abundance satisfies me,
I am His treasure.
In times of despair,
HIS promises lifts me, I am hopeful.
I AM WHO I AM

Jehovah Is HIS Name
Psalm 25

Jehovah is His name
He is my portion
The stronghold of my salvation
He is the God
Who never forsake

Jehovah is His name
He is my strength
Who turned my darkness to light
He is the God
Whose mercy is great

Jehovah is His name
He is my refuge
Whose worthy of all praises
He is the God
Who rescued me

Taste And See
Psalm 34

O, taste and see that the LORD is good.

Taste and see that He is.

O, taste and see that the LORD is good.

Taste and see that He is.

Fear not, you His saint.

Fear not, you His child.

The eyes of God are on you,

And you will not be condemned,

You, who are in Him.

I Will Deliver you

#365foodforthesoul
by:Aide Rose
August 2017

I Will Deliver you
1 Samuel 17

When the sky is gloomy,
and my heart is weary,
instead this thing has their way,
I hear a voice that tells me
everything will be okay,
because I will deliver you with a ray.

When the moment is so silent,
and my mind is in strident,
instead this thing will swallow me into the depth,
I hear the voice that tells me
do not fret,
because I will deliver you from it.

When the burden is beyond I can bear,
and my soul is at its rear,
instead this thing sweep me further,
I hear a voice that tells me
stand still and cheer,
because I will deliver you from its snare.

Reflection: Nothing has ever happened or will happen to you that is out of God's sovereignty.  Either good or bad, His presence isn't absent, not at all. No matter how things are so hard for you today, still trust and seek HIM.   He promised, HE will DELIVER you!
